Let me clear. This blog is selfish.
I need a system to increase my chances of beating myself. And by myself I mean the part of that me that would rather watch Netflix, scroll Twitter or do anything easier than learning something new and hard. So here we are.
I’m publicly committing to spending a minimum of 1 hour a day learning how to build AI tools and apps for the next 100 days.
If you’re sick of seeing “AI” splattered across the web, I don’t blame you. And this is a great time to get off the train. Despite the exhausting media cycle around AI, when I put aside the noise and the laughable startup valuations there’s real magic to be found. I believe the technology will be as transformative as electricity or the steam engine. I’d rather be apart of this seismic change than sit on the sidelines watching it happen.
Where I’m starting
I recently attended a Q&A with Dan Shipper (an AI focused entrepreneur and writer). I asked him if non-technical people like myself should learn foundational coding skills to build AI apps. His advice was…
No, just start making something you’re interested in and ask ChatGPT to help you build it.
So that’s what I’m going to do. Day 1 starts tomorrow (June 20, 2024). I’m super excited and simultaneously dreading this commitment. But committed I am.
My Goals Tomorrow
- Define the first AI app I want to build
- Ask ChatGPT to help me understand how to go about building it
- Start
